TORRINGTON – The victims in two separate domestic violence assaults were in Hartford Hospital on Tuesday following a busy 12 hours for city police.
Police responded to a fight between two brothers on Grace Street on Monday night, and a stabbing on French Street the next morning.
Luis Camacho-Ramirez, 28, of 62 French St., Torrington, is charged with first-degree assault for the stabbing and will be arraigned today in Torrington Superior Court.
He was arrested shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Camacho-Ramirez also is charged with risk of injury because a child was present during the attack but unharmed. Police learned of the domestic violence incident after being summoned to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for a stab wound to the neck.
The female victim, who is in her 30s, also had cuts to her hands, police said.
Police said the incident happened in the street in front of 62 French St. The woman, who was taken to Hartford Hospital due to the nature of her injury and location of the neck wound, was in stable condition Tuesday.
On Monday at 9:30 p.m., police were called to 21 Grace St. for a disturbance and found William Morehouse Jr., 25, and his 26-year-old brother, Dylan Morehouse, apparently intoxicated and injured. Blood was smeared on a kitchen stove and refrigerator, police said. Their elderly father also was in the home.
Dylan’s head had an obvious injury that he said was caused by a frying pan wielded by William, who told officers Dylan held him in a headlock and shoved him, causing his tooth to hurt, according to police. A cat scan at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital revealed intracranial bleeding, prompting his transfer to Hartford Hospital for further evaluation.
Dylan Morehouse was charged with breach of peace and third-degree assault.
William Morehouse was charged with second-degree assault, interfering with police and resisting arrest for allegedly struggling and refusing to submit to handcuffs. He is free on a promise to appear for his next court date_
The brothers have been ordered to stay apart and not harm one another.
