Torrington arrests, Dec. 30, 2016

The Torrington Police Department reported the following arrests:
FAILURE TO APPEAR: Thomas Schanz, 39, no known address, was arrested on Dec. 28 and charged with failure to appear in court. His bond was set at $5,000 and he was scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 3.
BREACH OF PEACE: Stephen Lomento, 19, 78 Jardon St., Torrington, was arrested on Dec. 17 and charged with breach of peace, unlawful restraint, criminal mischief and use of drug paraphernalia. The arrest was made after police responded to the address on a report of a domestic disturbance. Lomento’s bond was set at $5,000 and he was scheduled to appear in Bantam Superior Court on Dec. 19.
NO INSURANCE: Dorrell Bass, Lounsbury Road, Waterbury, was charged with driving without insurance after his involvement in a two-car accident on Dec. 28 at Concord Road and Putnam Street, Torrington. Police say Bass was asked for his insurance and registration and provided it, then admitted he had no insurance. He was issued a misdemeanor summons. No information on the accident was provided by police.
BREACH OF PEACE: Edward Stewart Jr., 62, 5 Grove Place, Danbury, was arrested on Dec. 20 and charged with breach of peace and threatening after police investigated a report of threats made at a local home. Stewart was released on $1,500 bond and scheduled to appear in Bantam Superior Court on Jan. 3.
VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: Thomas Ruiz, 26, 243 North Elm St., Torrington, was arrested on Dec. 22 and charged with violation of a protective order. His bond was set at $500 and he was scheduled to appear in Bantam Superior Court on Dec. 23.
LARCENY: Margaret Yedynak, 41, 63 Center St., Torrington, was arrested on Dec. 29 and charged with fourth-degree larceny. Her bond was set at $2,500 and she was scheduled to appear in Bantam Superior Court on Jan. 3.
BREACH OF PEACE, ASSAULT: Lenin Garcia, 38, 330 Highland Avenue, Torrington, was arrested on Dec. 23 and charged with breach of peace and third-degree assault. His bond was set at $500 and he was scheduled to appear in Bantam Superior Court on Jan. 3.
